Allow Anonymous Access on a SharePoint 2010 Site

  1. Go to Central Administration
  2. Central Administration > Manage Web Applications
  3. Click to highlight the application you want to enable anonymous access on
  4. click on authentication providers > click on Default
  5. Anonymous access > check off anonymous access
  6. Click on Save
  7. Close Authentication Providers popup
  8. In the ribbon, click on Anonymous Policy
  9. select zones (or all zones) and set to none > click save
  10. Navigate to top level site collection (aka root) in the browser
  11. Site Actions > Site Settings
  12. Users & Permissions > Site permissions
  13. In the ribbon, click on Anonymous Access
  14. Select “entire website” > ok
  15. Anonymous users should now appear in your user group list
