Access Denied to sp.ui.rte.js on Same Domain

by on August 25, 2011

The script is located on the same domain as the one you are using, yet you are getting a javascript error. I am not entirely sure what causes this issue but here is how to eliminate it.

  1. Go to Internet Explorer > Menu > Tools > Internet Options
  2. Click on the security tab
  3. Click on Sites
  4. Add domain and subdomains to Trusted sites (you may need to uncheck the box marked “require server verification” if your site does not user https)
  5. close
  6. Click on the custom level button
  7. Go to the Miscellaneous section > Access data sources across domains
  8. Click on “prompt” or “enable”image
  9. NOTE: if you click on prompt you will get a popup warning that says “This Page is accessing information that is not under its control. This poses a security risk. Do you want to continue?” Click on Yes when you get the box. If you want to eliminate the popup, you will have to set to “Enable”.image

  10. Click OK
