Remove SSL Errors from SharePoint Custom Themes

by on July 11, 2011

If you have created a custom theme and applied it to an ssl enable SharePoint site, you may get a security warning (if you hover over a menu item in WSS 2007, for example – In my case using SIMPLE as a starting theme).

To get rid of this, look at your custom theme css and remove any "url(http://xxxx)” or “url(http://localhost/xxx) ” links found in the theme. All url’s must be relative. Find and copy the images into the image folder and reference them that way, if you would like to keep them.
